Snake Creek State Recreation Area
Lake Francis Case - one of four Missouri River reservoirs in South Dakota - draws visitors to Snake Creek State Recreation Area near Platte. The park is popular with boaters and anglers, as well those looking for scenic beauty along the Missouri River. History buffs will enjoy knowing that the Lewis and Clark expedition traveled through the area, where they were told to watch for "burning bluffs" along the river. The park is open year-round. Between October 1 and April 30, showers, flush toilets and other water systems may be closed. Reservations may be made online for the campground, which includes more than 80 campsites and five camping cabins.SoDak Soda
Sodak Soda is the first ever gourmet soda shop in Sioux Falls. We serve up flavored soft drinks along with homemade cookies, bars, and salty snacks. The shop features soft drinks that are customized with flavored syrups, fruit purees and creams. We have more than 30 different syrups, a selection of fruit purees, fresh lemon and lime, and three flavored cream options. For those who don’t drink soft drinks, there are other options, including sparkling and still water, lemonade, hot chocolate (seasonally), and Italian sodas, all of which can be flavored with any one of our syrups. Founded in 1884, the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum’s exhibits and programming showcase how diverse, exciting and essential the history, culture and science of agriculture can be in South Dakota. It is housed in the historic Stock Judging Pavilion on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings. The Museum Store specializes in South Dakota made products that capture the spirit of South Dakota in every gift. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 1-5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is free. The South Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame is an organization dedicated to preserving the history of amateur baseball in South Dakota. The Hall of Fame building, named Salo Hall, is located in Lake Norden and houses artifacts and pictures detailing more than 100 years of the national pastime. Built in 1977, the building was a gift in memory of Joe and Hannah Salo by their daughter, Helen Mitchell.
