The Knuckle Brewing Company and The Knuckle Saloon are located in downtown Sturgis and rest on property once owned by Sturgis’s namesake, Colonel Samuel D. Sturgis. The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs is an active paleontological dig site, which boasts the largest concentration of mammoth remains in the world! Our current mammoth count is 61, with 58 Columbian and three woolly mammoths. We hope you will come and tour this unique National Natural Landmark. We are open seven days a week: Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with the last guided tour beginning at 4 p.m.
Located on the west side of Riverside Park (intersection of Walnut Street and Riverside Drive), this trail (.6 miles each level) is the historic double-decker Meridian Bridge. It was originally dedicated on October 11, 1924, as a toll bridge on the upper deck. The bridge spans the Missouri National Recreational River, which is a national park. Visitors can walk, run, or ride bikes on both levels of the bridge and enjoy a wonderful vantage point to look upon the river's wild and scenic waters.
