Tucked away in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, Jarrett and Jordan Dahl use chainsaws to carve bears, eagles, and other detailed and masterful works of art out of Black Hills pine and other wood. Nothing quite conveys their mastery of the craft, attention to detail, and pure skill like visiting one of the four Dahl's Chainsaw Art galleries in the Black Hills (Hill City, Keystone, Deadwood and Wall). If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a Jarrett or Jordan doing a carving in person. The centerpiece in Wall is the giant Jackalope. In Hill City, it's the 30-foot-tall Smokey the Bear statue. Keystone features the World's Largest Wooden Bigfoot Sculpture .

Dakota Drum Company in downtown Rapid City specializes in Native American art including buffalo rawhide drums, hand painted by Lakota artist Sonja Holy Eagle. Known for our traditional buffalo hide drums made from handscraped buffalo rawhide with cottonwood frames, as well as one-sided drums, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and our Native American art. We also carry hide paintings by Sonja, along with traditional beadwork and quillwork done by artists from the Cheyenne River, Pine Ridge, and Rosebud Reservations. You can also find beautiful buffalo robes, sweetgrass, and sage, along with many other traditional arts. We are open 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
At the Dakota Emporium Trading Post, located in Fort Pierre, we offer an extensive selection of beads and regalia supplies for Native dance outfits and jewelry. We also carry informative Native books and DVDs, and Native made jewelry and artwork, including quill and bead work, hides and botanicals. Our hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday.
